MEXICO CITY, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A train collided Tuesday with a fuel tanker truck on a highway in the central Mexican state of Queretaro, killing at least two people, local authorities said.
"Unfortunately, there were two deaths," Queretaro Government Secretary Eric Gudino Torres said, citing preliminary figures. One person was also reported injured.
The crash occurred shortly before noon on State Highway 100 near the Viborillas overpass, between the municipalities of El Marques and Colon.
Gudino said a private vehicle was also involved.
Security camera footage shared on social media showed the fuel-laden tanker truck being struck by the train as it crossed the tracks.
The Queretaro state prosecutor's office said it has opened an investigation to determine responsibility. ■
