WASHINGTON, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Southern Command said on Sunday it had killed three people in a strike on a vessel "engaged in narco-trafficking operations" in the eastern Pacific.
The command said on X that the boat was "operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations" and was "transiting along known narco-trafficking routes" when being struck. No U.S. military forces were harmed in this operation.
Since early September, the U.S. military has conducted roughly 50 known airstrikes on suspected drug-trafficking boats and killed at least 185 people aboard. ■
