LOS ANGELES, March 18 (Xinhua) -- NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Chris Williams completed a spacewalk outside the International Space Station on Wednesday.
The spacewalk began at 8:52 a.m. Eastern Time and concluded at 3:54 p.m., according to NASA.
During the roughly seven-hour operation, the astronauts accomplished their primary objectives, including preparing the station's 2A power channel. The work will support the future installation of roll-out solar arrays to provide additional power for the orbiting laboratory, NASA said.
They also carried out additional tasks, including installing a jumper cable for the 2A power system and adjusting bolt torque on a battery box. ■
