OTTAWA, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- A man died after being stabbed outside a major shopping mall in downtown Ottawa on Thursday evening, local media reported.
According to CBC News, the victim was found with life-threatening injuries near the entrance of the Rideau Center and later died in hospital.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at around 5:30 p.m. local time (2230 GMT), said the report.
One person has been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway. Police said there is no threat to public safety.
The incident marks the second stabbing near the Rideau Center in five days, according to CTV News. ■
