HAVANA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The remains of 32 Cuban military personnel killed during the U.S. military attack on Venezuela will arrive in Cuba on Thursday, the Cuban government said Monday.

The bodies of the fallen soldiers will be received at a military ceremony at Havana's Jose Marti International Airport, where they will be honored with a posthumous tribute, said an official statement.

A funeral procession will move along Rancho Boyeros Avenue to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

On Friday, the public will gather at the Jose Marti Anti-Imperialist Tribune to begin the "March of the Combatant People." Meanwhile, tribute ceremonies will be held in all provincial capitals across the country.

The remains of the soldiers will be buried in the Fallen for the Defense cemeteries in their respective hometowns.

On Jan. 3, the U.S. government carried out a military attack on Caracas and other localities in Venezuela, resulting in 100 fatalities, according to the official tally. The 32 Cubans were carrying out missions on behalf of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry.
