LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Disney and 20th Century's epic science fiction film "Avatar: Fire and Ash" easily maintained its reign in North America, adding 21.3 million U.S. dollars during its fourth weekend of release, figures from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
The third installment in James Cameron's Avatar franchise has earned 342.6 million dollars in North America and 1.23 billion dollars worldwide.
In the second spot, Paramount's horror film "Primate" opened to a debut weekend of 11.3 million dollars.
Rounding out the top three, Lionsgate's thriller film "The Housemaid" earned 11.2 million dollars in its fourth weekend for a domestic tally of 94.2 million dollars. ■
