LAS VEGAS, United States, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's premier technology event, opened here Tuesday, where the global technology community showcases the latest innovations and the future reality of the tech industry.

The annual show has attracted thousands of exhibitors from more than 155 countries and regions, according to the U.S. Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of CES.

More than 400 conference sessions are scheduled during the four-day event, gathering over 1,300 speakers from across the global technology industry.

Top trends of this year's show include artificial intelligence (AI), digital health, energy transition, mobility and robotics, according to CTA.

The conference program highlights developments in AI, beauty and fashion tech, digital health, energy solutions, gaming, robotics, sustainability, vehicle technology and smart mobility.

AI continues to take center stage at CES. Companies are unveiling AI-powered products and platforms aimed at accelerating automation, boosting productivity and enabling more personalized consumer experiences.

From smart devices and healthcare applications to autonomous systems and creative tools, AI is increasingly embedded in industries, serving as a unifying thread connecting innovations across the show floor.

Digital health is another major focus. Exhibitors are presenting innovations in remote monitoring, wearable technologies and AI-assisted diagnostics, reflecting growing demand for data-driven healthcare solutions amid aging populations and rising medical costs worldwide.

Robotics and intelligent mobility solutions further underscore the show's emphasis on practical applications of advanced technologies.

CES also serves as a platform for dialogue on global challenges and industry collaboration, where speakers discuss technology governance, supply chain resilience, and the social impact of rapid technological progress.

Chinese companies are maintaining a strong presence at CES 2026. In an interview with Xinhua ahead of the show, CTA Executive Chair and CEO Gary Shapiro said Chinese enterprises like Geely, Hisense, Lenovo, TCL and YuShu Technology Co., Ltd. (Unitree) will display innovations in immersive entertainment, robotics, mobility and other fields.

Lenovo will host its Tech World event at the Sphere during the show, while other Chinese firms hold leadership meetings alongside the exhibition, Shapiro told Xinhua.

To highlight cutting-edge developments in AI and quantum technologies, CES 2026 introduced a new zone called CES Foundry. Located near the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall at the Fontainebleau, the space provides innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, media and industry leaders with opportunities for live demonstrations, networking and immersive experiences.

Since its launch in 1967, CES has been widely regarded as a barometer of global consumer technology trends. Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty and rapid technological changes, this year's show underscores a clear push toward AI-driven innovation, cross-industry integration, and solutions addressing long-term global needs.
