LOS ANGELES, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Disney and 20th Century's epic science fiction film "Avatar: Fire and Ash" took the top spot at the North American box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated three-day cume of 64 million U.S. dollars, figures from the measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
The third installment in James Cameron's "Avatar" franchise has grossed 217.7 million dollars in North America, pushing its global cume to an estimated 760.4 million dollars through Sunday.
Disney's animated comedy film "Zootopia 2" climbed back to second place on the box office chart in its fifth weekend. The film earned 20 million dollars over the Christmas weekend, bringing its North American total to 321.4 million dollars.
Rounding out the top three, A24's new sports film "Marty Supreme" pulled in 17.5 million dollars this weekend. ■
