NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Netflix on Tuesday reported a 17 percent increase in third-quarter revenue to 11.5 billion U.S. dollars, in line with the company's own forecast.
Netflix said it recorded its best-ever quarter for advertisement sales.
"We're finishing the year with good momentum and have an exciting Q4 slate," said the company.
However, its net income rose around 8 percent to 2.5 billion dollars, below its projection.
Netflix did not disclose specific subscriber figures in its report. Shares of Netflix were down more than 6 percent in after-hours trading following the report. ■
