MEXICO CITY, May 17 (Xinhua) -- Six people, including a candidate for the mayor, were killed in a shooting in La Concordia, a city in the southeast Mexican state of Chiapas, local authorities said Friday.
The candidate, Lucero Lopez Maza, along with five others, was killed, and two more were injured, at a campaign rally held on Thursday, according to preliminary investigations.
The state prosecution has launched an investigation into the incident. ■
