NEW YORK, May 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 jolted East of South Sandwich Islands at 14:34:57 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 59.37 degrees south latitude and 17.27 degrees west longitude. ■
