BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted South Sandwich Islands Region at 2254 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 55.97 degrees south latitude and 27.09 degrees west longitude. ■
