NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 50 km SE of Honiara, Solomon Islands at 19:33:43 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 25.9 km, was initially determined to be at 9.81 degrees south latitude and 160.21 degrees east longitude. ■
