SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- A woman was arrested Sunday for allegedly abducting a 2-year-old boy who was previously reported missing in Sunnyvale, U.S. state of California, the city's Department of Public Safety (DPS) said on Monday.
Local police responded to a Travel Inn after receiving the report of a child abduction and vehicle theft on Sunday.
The 2-year-old Jacob Jardine was inside of his mother's SUV when it was stolen as she was unloading groceries at a motel, police said.
Officers found surveillance video that suggested the 29-year-old Luong "Tammy" Huynh was "responsible for abducting" the boy, the Sunnyvale DPS said in a Facebook post.
Surveillance footage from the motel shared on Twitter showed Huynh near the vehicle.
She is facing charges of kidnapping, child endangerment and vehicle theft, police said.
The toddler was found inside of the SUV in a parking lot about 4 miles away from the motel Sunday evening and appeared to have been "unharmed and healthy," according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle. Enditem.
