PRAGUE, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- No explosives or other dangerous items were found on four aircraft that received bomb threats en route to Prague on Thursday, the Czech News Agency (CTK) reported, citing a police spokesperson.
The spokesperson said that additional security checks at Prague Airport and its surrounding areas had also revealed nothing suspicious. Security measures were therefore lifted before noon.
The four aircraft, which had received anonymous bomb threats, landed at Prague Airport between 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. local time. Two of the planes, operated by private carriers, were from Britain, while the other two came from Ireland and Greece, respectively, the spokesperson said.
Czech police said earlier on social media platform X that they were working with Prague Airport to prepare for the landing of the four aircraft after receiving threats that explosive devices had been planted on board. Police assessed the credibility of the threats as low.
The spokesperson said police were investigating the incident in connection with similar incidents in other parts of Europe.
The Czech National Counterterrorism, Extremism and Cybercrime Agency has taken over the investigation, police said on X. ■
