LONDON, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- A tanker was struck by two unidentified projectiles in its engine room northeast of Lima, Oman, on Tuesday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said.
The incident occurred at 19:00 GMT, about 14 nautical miles (26 km) northeast of Lima, according to a report received by the UKMTO from the tanker's company security officer.
No casualties or environmental impact have been reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, the UKMTO issued a separate warning citing an Indian government report of an attack on a dhow with Indian crew while sailing outbound through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
The Royal Navy of Oman rescued the surviving crew, the UKMTO said, adding that the vessel's status was unknown. The warning listed the incident time as 11:05 GMT on Monday.
The UKMTO advised vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity while authorities investigate. ■
