BERLIN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed in a shooting in the county of Berngau in the German federal state of Bavaria, according to German media BILD.
Citing German police, local media reported that the shooting took place while two government staff were carrying out a routine weapons check in a residential building. Police have surrounded the house, in which they suspect the alleged shooter may be.
According to BILD's update, one government staff member was shot dead, and his colleague, who was reportedly injured, is still in the building with the suspect shooter. Local residents have been asked to stay at home.
Under the German Weapons Act, anyone who owns a legal firearm must undergo regular verifications to ensure the weapon is stored securely and cannot be accessed by unauthorized individuals. ■
