MOSCOW, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- A staff member of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) who was driving a vehicle with food supplies was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack overnight on Sunday, said a Russian official Monday morning.
"On Sunday, our comrade died," said Alexey Likhachev, director general of Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom. "The main heroes are the ZNPP personnel, who, around the clock, under enemy shelling, ensure the operation of the facility. And believe me, this is very difficult."
Early on Monday, plant authorities said in a statement that two Ukrainian drones also attacked a laboratory and household building, damaging the roof. No casualties or a threat to nuclear safety were reported. ■
