MINSK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.9 percent in the first eight months of 2026, the National Statistical Committee said on Thursday.
The preliminary estimate showed that the GDP volume at current prices reached 209.1 billion Belarusian rubles (about 68.8 billion U.S. dollars), representing 101.9 percent of the level recorded in the same period of 2025 in comparable prices.
The GDP deflator index for January-August stood at 113 percent in relation to the corresponding period of the previous year, the committee said.
For 2026, a presidential decree on key forecast parameters of the national economy sets a GDP growth target of 2.8 percent compared with 2025. ■
