ISTANBUL, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Diesel prices in Türkiye rose by about 6.5 Turkish liras (about 0.13 U.S. dollars) per liter on Tuesday amid rising geopolitical risks, pushing pump prices above 95 liras in major cities.

According to nationwide prices listed by fuel retailer Petrol Ofisi, the latest hike has pushed diesel prices as high as 98 liras per liter in some provinces.

The increase followed a surge in global oil prices driven by heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Brent crude rose above 108 U.S. dollars per barrel on Tuesday amid growing concerns over disruptions to regional oil supplies.

Diesel prices in Türkiye have risen by more than 75 percent over the past 12 months, from around 54 liras per liter in September 2025.
