BERLIN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- IFA Berlin 2026, one of the world's largest trade fairs for consumer electronics and home appliances, opened Friday, with robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) taking center stage.
According to the organizers, this year's event has attracted more than 1,900 brands from around the world. Visitors can explore a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and innovations during the five-day event, spanning smart homes, next-generation consumer electronics, mobility and other emerging fields.
Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management, said the trade show aims to "make innovation tangible and provide guidance at a time when technology is evolving faster than ever."
Highlighting one of the key technological shifts shaping this year's show, Lindner said AI is moving beyond content generation and complex tasks and increasingly entering the physical world. At the same time, smaller and more energy-efficient AI models are being integrated into smartphones, vehicles, home appliances and other everyday products.
At this year's IFA, Chinese brands continue to maintain a strong presence. Companies including TCL, Hisense, Haier, DJI and Xiaomi showcased their latest products and technologies, attracting considerable attention from media and visitors.
TCL is marking its 16th consecutive year at IFA with a 2,662-square-meter exhibition space. "Under the theme 'AI Inspired Life,' what we want to present at this year's IFA is more than a broad portfolio of products. We want to show a way of life in the AI era," Daniel Sun, CTO of TCL Industries, told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.
From screens that allow users to interact with AI across different spaces and scenarios to home appliances that can respond more naturally to people and their surroundings, the showcase highlights how individual smart products are increasingly coming together to create more integrated experiences in everyday life, he added. ■
