SARAJEVO, Sept.1 (Xinhua) -- The first international defense and security industry fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) opened on Tuesday, attracting about 50 defense industry companies from various countries.
Covering an exhibition area of more than 7,000 square meters, the event showcases achievements in defense technologies, military and protective equipment, logistics, cybersecurity, unmanned systems and other related sectors.
Nermin Niksic, prime minister of the Federation of BiH, emphasized that the defense industry is a vital sector for security, industrial, and development policy.
The event also includes an international conference program focusing on contemporary challenges and trends in the defense industry, technological innovation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the development of industrial capabilities, and international cooperation.
The fair will last four days. According to local media N1, it is the first international defense and military exhibition ever held in BiH. The next edition is scheduled for September 1, 2028. ■
