SARAJEVO, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- A group of 61 irregular migrants has been found along the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Croatia, authorities said on Thursday. The Border Police of BiH said the group was located during a joint patrol with its Croatian counterparts.

The migrants were detected near the border zone of Kozarska Dubica municipality using operational intelligence, specialized surveillance equipment and drones. Members of the group said they were from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India, but none of them possessed valid identification documents.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs of BiH has been notified, and further proceedings are under way.

BiH faces sustained pressure from irregular migration. According to the latest Migrant Mobility Situation Report released by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), BiH registered 1,157 irregular migrants in June, accounting for nearly half of the 2,500 migrants recorded across the Western Balkans that month.
