MOSCOW, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday declared a staff member of the Romanian Embassy in Moscow persona non grata and notified Romanian Charge d'Affaires Liliana Burda of the decision.
The ministry said the move was in response to the Romanian side's "unfounded" decision in July to declare a staff member of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest persona non grata. The Romanian Foreign Ministry also ordered the person to leave the country within five days.
Between July 24 and 26, the Romanian air defense shot down three drones that violated the country's airspace. Bucharest said the drones were of Russian origin. ■
