BAKU, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Azerbaijan Junior Open 2026 started here on Friday, marking Azerbaijan's debut as a host on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Junior International Series circuit.
The three-day tournament features 64 Under-19 players from nine countries competing in five events: men's and women's singles and doubles, and mixed doubles.
Host Azerbaijan is represented by 22 players, while other competitors come from Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, India and Tajikistan.
Finals in all five events are scheduled for Aug. 16. ■
