ATHENS, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Two tourists have been injured by aircraft jet blast at an airport on the Greek island of Skiathos within four days, Greece's public broadcaster ERT reported Thursday.
Skiathos is located in the northern Aegean Sea and is part of Greece's Northern Sporades archipelago.
The latest incident occurred at around 12:40 p.m. local time on Thursday, when an Italian woman in her 50s was caught in the jet blast as an aircraft was preparing for takeoff. She fell and suffered a serious arm fracture.
On Aug. 10, another Italian tourist was seriously injured by jet blast at the same airport. She was later transferred to a hospital in Volos after suffering a head injury.
Skiathos Airport is located close to a public road and beach, where tourists often gather to watch aircraft take off and land. Warning signs have been installed around the airport to alert visitors to the dangers of jet blast.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incidents, according to local media. ■
