MOSCOW, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Anonymous Russian hackers claimed to have obtained written evidence of NATO's direct involvement in attacks on Russian territory, TASS reported Friday.
The materials allegedly concern attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on oil terminals in Russia's Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions in July.
An anonymous hacker told TASS that the written evidence obtained by the hackers showed that Bart De Wachter, a hybrid warfare specialist affiliated with NATO intelligence, had provided Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) with intelligence containing the coordinates of oil terminals in the two Russian regions, as well as coordinates of a Gazprom tanker carrying liquefied natural gas.
According to the documents, De Wachter proposed holding an online meeting with a representative of the SBU International Cooperation Center and suggested that his intelligence superior also attend. In response, the Ukrainian side proposed involving SBU expert Mikhail Marchenko in the communication.
TASS also quoted the hacker as saying that European countries had arranged for specialists in hybrid and information warfare to participate in attacks against Russia, while Ukraine was merely being used as a tool. ■
