MINSK, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Two people lost their lives and 14 others were injured in a military vehicle accident in Belarus on Friday, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said.
According to official statements, the crash happened on the Osipovichi-Baranovichi highway when a military truck lost control and overturned, killing a junior contract sergeant and a conscript soldier. Medical assistance is currently being provided to those injured in the crash.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the truck lost control while turning onto the main road, causing the vehicle to overturn into a ditch.
A criminal case has been opened for causing death through traffic violations. ■
