MOSCOW, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Russia said Thursday that its armed forces carried out overnight raids on military-related targets in the Ukrainian port city of Odesa.
The strikes, involving air-launched precision-guided weapons and attack drones, hit infrastructure at the Odesa port used for military purposes, the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
The drones struck a workshop producing components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a warehouse storing UAVs intended for delivery to the Ukrainian armed forces in Odesa, it said.
Russian forces have repeatedly struck the port of Odesa in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, the ministry said Russian air defense forces intercepted 223 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones between 8 p.m. Moscow time (1700 GMT) on Wednesday and 8 a.m. (0500 GMT) on Thursday. ■
