MOSCOW, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces shot down 917 fixed-wing Ukrainian drones, eight guided aerial bombs and four HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectiles in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said Monday.
In an official report, the ministry said Russian operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile forces and artillery have hit Ukrainian assembly and storage sites for long-range drones, a logistics center, fuel-energy and transport infrastructure, assembly and storage workshops for unmanned surface vessels, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas.
The ministry added that forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed two Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels.
On Monday, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which oversees the largest route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to global markets, said a drone attack targeted the NELSA tanker near its Black Sea terminal. A previous attack was reported Sunday, hitting the ASIA and NISSOS IOS oil tankers and temporarily disrupting shipments. ■
