KIEV, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Russian missiles attacked on Sunday a Turkish-owned civilian cargo vessel sailing under the Guinea-Bissau flag, killing at least five people, according to the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
According to a statement by the naval forces, three Kh-59/Kh-69 cruise missiles struck the Golden Leo dry cargo ship, when it was heading out of the combat zone carrying a cargo of grain.
The strike triggered a fire on board. Eight crew members were evacuated to a hospital in Ukraine's Black Sea port city of Odesa, the statement said.
Five additional crew members remained missing, and rescue operations were ongoing. ■
