MOSCOW, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said Monday that national air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 146 Ukrainian drones over a 12-hour period.
"Between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow Time on Monday, on-duty air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 146 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the territories of Russia, including Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Crimea, Ryazan and Tula regions, as well as the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea," the ministry said in a statement.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that air defense units had shot down a total of 5 drones targeting Moscow on Monday afternoon. "Emergency response teams are working at the debris fall site," the mayor posted on Russian social platform Max. ■
