MOSCOW, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said Friday that Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 376 Ukrainian drones overnight in more than ten regions, including the Moscow region, while another refinery came under attack.
Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia have intensified in recent days, with energy infrastructure among the primary targets.
The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters said a fire broke out overnight at the Ilsky oil refinery in Seversky District, in the western part of Krasnodar Krai, after falling drone debris ignited the facility. No casualties were reported, and the fire was later extinguished.
In the Rostov Region, Governor Yury Slyusar said a drone attack sparked fires at two petroleum product storage facilities in the city of Azov on Friday morning. According to preliminary information, no casualties were reported, and firefighting operations were underway.
Slyusar added that in a separate incident, two tankers in Taganrog Bay sustained mechanical damage following a drone attack. A fire remained burning aboard one vessel, while the blaze on the other had been extinguished. No casualties were reported.
The attacks came several days after Ukraine targeted Russia's largest oil refinery in Omsk. ■
