MOSCOW, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces conducted a group strike with ground-based precision weapons targeting Ukrainian defense facilities in Kiev, while Ukraine carried out multiple attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
The Samsung-Ukraine factory, producing and storing components for FP-5 Flamingo ground-launched cruise missiles, and a workshop for the assembly of long- and medium-range drones were confirmed hit, the ministry said.
The Russian forces carried out the strike using operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missiles and artillery, hitting Ukrainian logistics centers, fuel-energy and transport infrastructure facilities, ammunition depots, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 157 areas, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, Russian air defense systems shot down eight guided aerial bombs and 903 fixed-wing drones in the past day.
Gazprom, a major Russian energy company, said in an official statement that the Krasnodarskaya compressor station, which supplies Russian gas to Türkiye via the Blue Stream pipeline, was targeted by a drone attack on Tuesday.
One person was killed and six others were injured in a drone attack carried out by Ukrainian forces against Russia's Belgorod region, its acting governor Alexander Shuvaev said. ■
