FRANKFURT, July 6 (Xinhua) -- German consumer confidence improved in July, with the HDE Consumer Barometer rising 1.4 points from the previous month to 94.77, according to survey results released on Monday.
The survey, conducted by the Handelsblatt Research Institute between June 18 and 21 among around 1,600 German households, showed that consumers' expectations for the economy and their own incomes improved markedly as concerns over the conflict between Israel and Iran eased.
The Bundesbank said in its June monthly report that the conflict had disrupted the German economy, with higher energy prices fueling inflation and eroding households' purchasing power.
In the same report, the Bundesbank forecast Germany's economy would grow by 0.5 percent this year. ■
