TALLINN, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Estonian President Alar Karis and Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics on Wednesday reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing regional security, economic cooperation and transport connectivity during talks on the Estonian island of Ruhnu, as the Latvian leader began a three-day state visit to Estonia.
The two leaders discussed regional security, defense cooperation, support for Ukraine, cyber resilience, energy and transport links, as well as bilateral economic ties.
Rinkevics said Latvia's security is inseparable from Estonia's and stressed that any attack against Estonia would also constitute an attack on NATO. Karis said close cooperation between the two neighboring countries contributes to the security and stability of the entire Baltic region.
Rinkevics is scheduled to meet Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Speaker of the Parliament Lauri Hussar on Thursday. ■
