MOSCOW, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Two-way investment between Russia and China continues to grow, with bilateral economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges gaining steady momentum, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.
Fielding a question from Xinhua on the 9th China-Eurasia Expo that opened Thursday in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zakharova expressed hope that the fair would give businesses from both countries more opportunities to build closer ties and expand cooperation.
"We support events held in China that aim to advance multilateral economic and trade cooperation and strengthen Russia-China business partnerships, and we encourage Russia's business community to participate," Zakharova said.
She went on to invite Chinese partners to attend major exhibitions and forums scheduled to take place across Russia in the second half of the year.
Zakharova stressed that intensive exchanges, including those between businesses, play a vital role in strengthening comprehensive practical cooperation between Russia and China, which, despite global headwinds and external pressure, has demonstrated strong adaptability and resilience. ■
