BERLIN, June 20 (Xinhua) -- One person died after two freight trains collided on a bridge in Munich, police said Saturday.
Part of one train fell about five meters from the bridge and landed on a road below at around 1:40 a.m. local time (2340 GMT Friday), according to police.
The cause of the collision was still unclear. The area may remain closed until Sunday as recovery work continues, German news agency dpa reported.
The accident occurred on a line used exclusively by freight trains, a spokeswoman for rail operator Deutsche Bahn said, adding that regional and long-distance services were not affected. ■
