MOSCOW, June 19 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition on China's scientific and technological achievements was held Thursday in Moscow, featuring more than 20 selected photographs that highlight China's progress in science and technology and its cooperation with Russia in the field.
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said the exhibition offered a vivid presentation of China's scientific and technological achievements in recent years.
Zhang added that cooperation in science and technology is an important part of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, having supported economic development in both countries and improved the well-being of both peoples.
Andrei Fursenko, aide to the Russian president, said science, education and technology hold a special place in Russia-China cooperation, adding that China's achievements in space, marine development, and basic research leave a particularly deep impression.
The exhibition was co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Xinhua News Agency and attended by more than 400 political figures, technology professionals, scholars and media representatives from both countries. ■
