WARSAW, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The United States will provide Poland with a new 4-billion-U.S.-dollar loan to purchase U.S. military equipment, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas DiNanno said on Friday.
DiNanno announced the loan at a ceremony marking the induction of three F-35 fighter jets into the Polish Armed Forces at Lask Air Base, according to the Polish Press Agency (PAP).
The loan will be provided under the Foreign Military Financing program, bringing the total amount made available to Poland through the program to nearly 20 billion U.S. dollars, DiNanno said in an interview with PAP.
Poland and the United States signed a contract in 2020 for the purchase of 32 F-35 fighter jets. The first three aircraft arrived in Poland in late May. ■
