THE HAGUE, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Another child, who was seriously injured in a traffic accident in the Netherlands, died later on Thursday, bringing the death toll to four, local media reported.
Previous reports said two children and an adult were killed when a passenger car crashed into a group of 14 children and two supervisors taking part in a school camp cycling near the village of Terhole in Zeeland Province on Thursday. Four other children were seriously injured.
According to Dutch regional broadcaster Omroep Zeeland, the accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. local time (1030 GMT).
It is reported that a 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed whether he was the driver of the vehicle or the reason for his arrest. An investigation is still ongoing.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten described the incident as "horrific and devastating news" in a statement. ■
