MINSK, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The 36th international specialized exhibition Belagro kicked off on Tuesday in Minsk as part of the Belarusian Agroindustrial Week.
This year's exhibition has attracted 570 companies from 12 countries and will run until June 6.
The event spans 42,600 square meters, featuring more than 130 samples of modern agricultural machinery, including more than 35 new releases, as well as greenhouse technologies and processing innovations. The exhibition combines closed pavilions for food products with open-air displays of heavy machinery and farming solutions.
Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko highlighted the country's achievements in dairy, meat production and food exports during the opening ceremony. Belarus remains self-sufficient in food and a key global supplier of high-quality agricultural products, he noted, emphasizing the nation's growing influence in the sector.
The exhibition has been held since 1990 within the Belarusian Agroindustrial Week and is Belarus' largest showcase of achievements in the agricultural industry. The event displays a wide range of the latest machinery and equipment, up-to-date developments in agriculture, animal husbandry, poultry and fish farming, agricultural production, housing construction, food processing and other related fields. ■
