OSLO, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Wednesday formed her third government, with women making up more than half of the new cabinet, according to a statement from the Danish Prime Minister's Office.

The government has 21 members, including the prime minister. The official list shows that 11 of them are women.

Frederiksen presented the new government to King Frederik X at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen on Wednesday morning, while outgoing ministers were received in a farewell audience later in the day.

Under the new lineup, Frederiksen continues as prime minister. Pia Olsen Dyhr of Green Left (former Socialist People's Party) becomes minister of economic affairs and the interior, Lars Lokke Rasmussen of the Moderates remains as foreign minister, and Martin Lidegaard of the Social Liberal Party becomes minister of business and competitiveness.

The formation of the new government came one day after Frederiksen presented a political program for the four-party coalition, following a 69-day coalition-building process, the longest in Denmark's history.

Denmark held parliamentary elections on March 24. Although Frederiksen's Social Democrats remained the largest party, neither the left-leaning nor the right-leaning bloc secured a parliamentary majority, leading to prolonged negotiations.

The policy document, published by the Danish Prime Minister's Office, said Greenland has been subjected to "unacceptable pressure" recently. The government said it will, together with Greenland's autonomous government, stand firm on the basic principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right of every people to self-determination.

The program also includes measures to make food cheaper, increase support for pensioners with the lowest incomes, lower corporate taxes, promote Danish investment, upgrade schools, and introduce a minimum age of 15 for social media use.
