BERLIN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- At least 27 people were injured, including five seriously, after two trams collided in central Duesseldorf on Saturday, according to emergency services.
Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene and treated dozens of people. Authorities said an additional 28 individuals received medical attention but were not injured. No fatalities or life-threatening injuries have been reported.
Most passengers were able to leave the damaged vehicles on their own, and no complex rescue operation was required, officials said
The collision disrupted tram services across the city center, with several routes diverted while emergency responders and investigators worked at the scene.
Authorities have not yet determined what led to the crash and are continuing their investigation. ■
