NOVI SAD, Serbia, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The 93rd International Agricultural Fair opened Friday in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, drawing around 1,200 exhibitors from 40 countries to showcase advances in smart farming, agricultural machinery and agribusiness technologies.

Running through May 21, the fair is among the largest agricultural exhibitions in Southeast Europe and reflects growing global interest in digital agriculture, precision farming and cross-border cooperation in the sector.

Opening the event, Serbian Agriculture Minister Dragan Glamocic said technological innovation and international partnerships are becoming increasingly important as farmers face challenges from climate change and rising production costs.

This year's partner country, the Czech Republic, is presenting companies focused on livestock breeding, poultry processing and animal feed production. Exhibitors from Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, China and Türkiye are also taking part.

Chinese companies are showcasing a range of agricultural technologies, including machinery, satellite positioning systems and climate-control equipment for livestock farming.

Among them, Shanghai-based SpatiX is presenting satellite navigation technology designed for autonomous tractors and agricultural drones, while other Chinese exhibitors are displaying tractors, oil presses and ventilation systems.

Organizers expect more than 100,000 visitors during the week-long event, which also includes livestock exhibitions, horse shows, organic food displays and culinary programs.
