LONDON, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Two vessels caught fire in waters near the Strait of Hormuz, according to separate warnings issued Monday by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
In one alert, a cargo vessel reported a fire in its engine room, with no casualties. In another, a third party reported a separate vessel on fire and advised nearby ships to keep a safe distance.
The UKMTO said the causes of both incidents have not yet been verified.
Based on the reported positions, both incidents occurred in waters close to the United Arab Emirates.
