MOSCOW, May 1 (Xinhua) -- A passenger helicopter carrying shift workers made a hard landing in Russia's Komi Republic on Friday, leaving eight of the 24 people on board injured, Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Rescue services in Usinsk received a report that a privately operated Mi-8T passenger helicopter rolled onto its side during takeoff from a helipad, the ministry said in a statement.
Fire and rescue crews are responding to the scene. The cause of the incident is under investigation. ■
