BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted north of Ascension Island at 2036 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 0.14 degrees south latitude and 16.5 degrees west longitude. ■
