MOSCOW, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a phone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the situation in the Middle East and developments in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.
During the call on Monday, the two sides discussed ways to resolve the crisis triggered by the unprovoked U.S.-Israeli attack against Iran and expressed readiness to support efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.
Fidan also raised recent developments in Ukraine and the possibility of resuming trilateral negotiations involving the United States. He reaffirmed that Türkiye is prepared to offer Istanbul as a venue for the talks.
Lavrov gave his assessment of recent actions and statements by the Ukrainian authorities, according to the ministry. ■
