BERLIN, April 1 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were severely injured following a stabbing attack in the western German city of Solingen on Wednesday, according to German newspaper BILD.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon when a dispute between two men in the city center escalated, prompting one of them to draw a knife, said the newspaper.
A 46-year-old suspect stabbed the other and also injured a bystander who attempted to mediate the conflict. Following the clash, the suspect was taken into custody.
The local police confirmed the operation on the social media platform X, noting that investigations are still ongoing. ■
